A
study conducted in America is discovering that the recommended
daily dosage of two litres of water per day may in fact be too
high.
One
important factor in determining the appropriate amount of water
consumption is the water intake from the daily food diet. Fruit
and vegetables, for example, are 80 to 95 percent water, while
even bread contains about 35 percent water.
In
addition to the water contained in foods, people drink other
beverages such as juice and milk which are also largely water
based.
A
professor at Dartmouth Medical School, Dr Heinz Valtin, has
suggested that “if people obey their thirst and… produce urine of
a normal yellow colour, that’s a safe sign.”
